I was born in France about one mile away from Notre Dame and have visited many times but as an atheist, I was excited to see it in flames and was hoping that it would burn to the ground.

Notre Dame was built over 850 years ago and is at the heart of French culture and history. It is the main tourist attraction of Paris, even more so than the Eifel Tower. During the fire, I saw Parisians praying in the streets but God as usual was not listening. God was thinking Fuck French culture and history.

If their three-headed god existed, he would cursing the Paris fire department for thwarting his divine plan.

Notre Dame isn't owned by the Archdiocese of Paris (and by extension, the Catholic Church). It is the property of the French government, who rents the building to the church.

Even after the fire, I see people saying what a loss it is, but we lost the symbol of a tyrannical church that wants non-believers like me dead.

I would like the cathedral razed and be replaced by a park whose purpose is to condemn the concept of gods and that we explore outer space and claim the heavens to be ours, and not some imaginary creature. If you're going to donate money, please donate to any governmental agency, corporation or individuals that promote space exploration.
