Misogyny, the hatred of women may be the the world's oldest prejudice
and is strongly tied to the Old Testament, the New Testament and the Quran!.
Misogyny may be phallogocentric and homoerotic at its root. Misogyny functions as an ideology or belief system that has accompanied patriarchal, or male-dominated societies for thousands of years and continues to place women in subordinate positions with limited access to power and decision making. Nearly all religions are misogynistic. You could find hundreds of biblical verses that belittle or demean women. If you put all the quotes together, you have a good part of Christian Sharia Under Abrahamic religions, woman is a cow She belongs first to her father, then to whomever her father deems worthy to own her. Then it is up to her husband to decide when she gets pregnant, for she must submit to his headship, his law, his rule. He will, in turn, submit to God, who speaks through the church... in which only men can have any legitimate, law-setting power. Woman is given platitudes of her place in the faith, but they do a poor job of hiding her pitiful reality: her ideal form is bovine. Whether she is in a faith which lets her roam free or keeps her caged, woman is a cow. Property which a man can use to extract whatever he may need. Deus Vult. Interestingly enough, it is illegal to rape a cow, but women. not so much.
Organized religion is the only force in our world that enables misogyny, the inequality of the sexes (in favor of the male). Sexism. In Judaism and Christianity the following biblical quotes support misogyny.
Under Islam, misogyny is raised to an absurd level as can be seen by the burqas.
Islam seems to think that every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife or a concubine. We see pictures or watch videos of women covered in burqas or veils in Muslim countries and find them repugnant. The burqa is the Islamic Cloak of Death. The word slut is used to describe a woman who has the morals of a man.
Since then I noticed how it's so normalized to put pressure on woman and girls in the South to serve men and if you don't your seen as a jezebel or disobedient. If you dont want kids your looked at like you have an extra head and told that women were created to pass on offspring. Having a right to do what you want with your own body is seen as a huge no in the South. Abortion? " But you were created for reproducing." Birth control? "Why do you need that for? That might affect your chances of having a child."
Eve committed the worst offense in all of Christianity because since day one the only sin worse than being a woman is being an educated woman. Since day one the foundation of Christianity is built on the premise that the worst sin you can commit is being an educated woman. Eve is the most hated woman in all of history because she was a critical thinker, didn't take things at face value, and ate an apple out of a tree in a garden that was for everyone. I think that one of the most telling details in the Bible is that all of humanity's sin is blamed on a woman because she chose to eat a bite of an apple, thought critically about the world around her, and didn't take things at face value. From day one, Christianity has been about controlling women, demonizing knowledge, and gaslighting women for being educated enough to question the status quo. It's just sad. It's sad that the most popular book in human history was created to control women, gaslight them, demonize critical thinkers, and punish people for loving education. Imagine if we'd built civilization on the empowerment of women and the pursuit of knowledge. How much further ahead do you think we would be? |
